Aluminum round wire – reliability and safety of installation
RD 10-ALU wire is a solid element designed for various applications in electrical installations. Made of pure aluminum (E-Al according to DIN 48801), it ensures efficient and safe energy transmission. Its construction, based on a single class 1 wire, guarantees good flexibility while maintaining high mechanical strength. This wire is used in installations where reliability and resistance to external conditions are required.
Application and compliance with standards
RD 10-ALU wire meets the requirements of DIN EN 62561-2 (VDE 0185-561-2) and VDE 0185-305 (IEC 62305) standards, which confirms its high quality and safety of use. This is particularly important when designing lightning protection installations and in potential equalization systems. However, it should be remembered that aluminum wires AL and ALMgSi should not be laid directly on, in or under plaster, mortar, concrete or in the ground – this is a key limitation resulting from the properties of the material.
Technical characteristics and benefits
The wire is characterized by a cross-section of 78 mm² and a core diameter of 10 mm. Its outer diameter with insulation is also 10 mm. The weight of the wire is 21 kg per 100 meters of length. The lack of a shield and a halogen-free jacket makes it a solution dedicated to specific applications where these elements are not required. The use of an aluminum alloy ensures good electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. Remember that the wire is supplied in a raw state – without additional protective coating. This makes it ready for further processing or use in specific installation conditions.
