Surge protector Type 1

This three-pole surge protector, class B, is designed for installation in TN-C networks, constituting the first line of defense against the effects of lightning strikes and surges. It provides comprehensive protection for both the electrical installation and the devices connected to it. It is a key element in the lightning protection system, especially in places exposed to direct lightning strikes or induced surges.

This surge protector is supplied as a complete, pre-assembled kit, ready for immediate connection to a DIN TH-35 mm mounting rail. The design based on replaceable cartridges facilitates servicing and replacement of damaged elements, minimizing system downtime. Thanks to this solution, replacing a damaged element does not require replacing the entire device.

Performance and safety

The device is characterized by a high discharge capacity – up to 50 kA (10/350 µs) per pole – which guarantees effective protection against sudden voltage spikes. The voltage protection level below 2.0 kV minimizes the risk of damage to sensitive electronic components. The follow current extinguishing capacity at a level of 25 kA Ipeak further increases the safety of the installation. The surge protector meets the requirements of EN 61643-11 and VDE-AR-N 4100 standards, which confirms its high quality and reliability.

Application and technical specification

This surge protector is used wherever protection against surges is required, especially in industrial, commercial and residential buildings exposed to external factors. The degree of protection IP20 provides basic protection against accidental contact and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. Remember to maintain a minimum cable length (5m) as a decoupling section for energy coordination with the second level of protection.
