This four-pole surge protector type 1+2 (class B+C) is a key element in protecting the electrical installation from the effects of lightning strikes and surges. Designed to work with TN-S, TN-C-S and TT networks, it provides comprehensive protection for both residential and industrial buildings. Its construction based on coordinated limiters and an N-PE spark gap guarantees effective discharge of surge energy, minimizing the risk of equipment damage.

Construction and application

The surge protector consists of three type 1+2 MCD 50-B-OS limiters and one N-PE spark gap MCD 125-B/NPE. This configuration allows for coordinated protection against surges in both the phase and neutral lines. The device is fully assembled and ready to be connected to a DIN TH-35 mm mounting rail, which simplifies and speeds up installation. It is ideally suited for zone 0 to 1 according to the zoning concept of lightning protection (IEC 61312-1 or VDE 0185-305).
