Single-phase energy meter OWE-1
Precise energy consumption measurement in single-phase installations
The OWE-1 meter is an electronic device designed for the direct measurement of active power in single-phase electrical circuits. It is used in both large-scale industrial and commercial installations, as well as in smaller projects requiring accurate energy consumption tracking. The device is mounted on a DIN rail and occupies a width of only one module, allowing for space savings in the distribution board.
Construction and operating parameters
The one-module wide housing enables installation in standard electrical distribution boards. The device operates on a single-phase network with a rated voltage of 230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz. The rated current range is 5 A, with a maximum current reaching 45 A - sufficient to handle most domestic circuits and light industrial installations without the need for external current transformers.
The meter is equipped with a digital display featuring a five-digit counter, allowing for real-time reading of energy consumption. Accuracy class B ensures compliance with current metrological standards for devices of this type.
Measuring functions and S0 pulse output
The OWE-1 model generates 1000 pulses per kilowatt-hour (kWh) via an S0 type pulse output. This is a standard interface used for integration with building automation systems, energy consumption loggers, and BMS systems - enabling the archiving of measurement data and its further analysis. The pulse output is electrical, ensuring reliable signal transmission even over longer distances.
The device also features a tamper lock, which prevents manipulation of the meter readings - an important feature in locations where measurement certainty is required.
Installation and operating conditions
The mounting method on a DIN rail adapter ensures that installation is quick and trouble-free. The enclosure protection rating is IP20, which means protection against finger access and solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 12.5 mm - typical for devices mounted inside electrical distribution boards. The device does not have a communication interface or a radio module - this is a deliberate design choice to ensure simplicity and reliability of operation.
The meter is single-tariff and does not support load profiles or EDL40/EEC40 functions. It does not require metrological verification as a billing-purpose energy consumption device - it serves effectively as a control tool for monitoring energy consumption by individual circuits or devices.
