Composition and operating parameters

The Sn97Cu3 solder with a diameter of 3 mm is a lead-free tin alloy with copper additive (respectively 97% Sn and 3% Cu), manufactured by AGAM in accordance with the PN-EN ISO 9453:2014 standard. The absence of lead is a significant feature - it eliminates the risk of contact between this heavy metal and drinking water and makes the product safer for the health of installation users.

The melting temperature ranges from 220-310°C, allowing for fast and precise soldering without overheating the connected elements. The maximum operating temperature is 110°C, therefore the solder is suitable for typical water and heating installations - it is not intended for connections exposed to extreme heat.

Compatibility and required accessories

Since this version does not contain flux (0% flux), paste or flux must be applied separately before soldering - the manufacturer recommends Degufit 3000 or Soldaflux 7000. This is a standard solution in professional soft soldering; the paste additionally improves the solder flow and cleans the surfaces.

The solder is intended for copper pipes and fittings - both during the construction of new installations and the repair of existing ones. It connects:

Step-by-step connection preparation

1. Cutting - cut the pipe to the required dimension.
2. Cleaning - clean the outer surface of the pipe with a copper scouring pad; clean the inner side of the pipe and fittings with a brush.
3. Flux - apply Degufit paste or Soldaflux flux; wipe off any excess with a cloth.
4. Heating - heat the connection evenly with a torch, avoiding overheating.
5. Soldering - touch the edge of the connection with the wire; the molten solder should flow freely into the gap.
6. Finishing - wipe the connection with a damp cloth.
