Power Supply and Distribution in Challenging Conditions
The Suwałki-type stationary distribution board is a solution dedicated to permanent installation and mounting, where resistance to external conditions and connection safety are paramount. The housing, made of plastic (PC/ABS), ensures lightweight construction while maintaining mechanical strength, which is crucial for wall mounting in locations with limited access. The IP67 protection rating guarantees complete dust tightness and the possibility of short-term immersion in water, making it an ideal choice for outdoor installations, construction sites, or industrial zones exposed to rain and snow.
Output Configuration and Connection Flexibility
The device is designed to handle various types of loads without the need for additional intermediate distribution boards. Inside, there is a set of CEE sockets with varied mounting options, allowing flexible energy management for different devices. Power can be distributed between one 63A 5-pole socket intended for high-power consumption devices, such as industrial welders or large generators, and two 32A 5-pole sockets enabling the simultaneous connection of medium-sized construction machinery or power tools. For smaller household appliances or power tools, two standard Type F (CEE 7/3) sockets with protective contacts are provided, allowing their safe connection without the use of adapters.
It is worth noting that the distribution board does not come with factory-installed overcurrent or residual current (RCD) protection devices. This means the installer must ensure appropriate protection of the supply circuit before the cable enters the enclosure or install them independently inside, if safety standards for the specific location require it. The absence of pre-installed protection offers full freedom in selecting the tripping characteristics of the circuit breakers (e.g., B, C, or D) depending on the specifics of the connected loads and their inrush currents.
Construction Durability and Mounting Safety
A key element of this distribution board is its resistance to external factors and mechanical damage. The housing meets IK08 and IK09 standards, indicating high impact resistance – even in the event of accidental impact with a heavy tool during maintenance work, the risk of housing cracking is minimal. The housing material is UV-resistant according to ISO 4892-2, ensuring it does not yellow or lose strength even after prolonged exposure to sunlight. The operating temperature range from -25°C to +40°C allows year-round use in Polish climatic conditions without loss of insulating properties.
Operational safety and durability are ensured by additional structural elements:
- A metric-threaded insert made of brass allows effective sealing of the enclosure, preventing unauthorized access to the interior by third parties.
- All external screws are made of stainless steel, preventing corrosion and "seizing" due to long-term exposure to moisture.
- The cable entry with a diameter of M40 enables the connection of cables with sufficiently large diameters required for 63A and 32A currents, ensuring a sealed passage of conductors while maintaining the IP67 protection rating.
Dimensions and Practical Application
When planning the installation, it is important to consider the device dimensions: width is 297 mm, height is 520 mm, and depth is 165 mm. These dimensions allow for efficient use of space while maintaining comfort during cable connection. This distribution board serves as a central power distribution point where high connection flexibility and resistance to harsh environmental conditions are required – from small construction companies to large infrastructure projects. The lack of factory-installed protection requires careful planning of the supply installation before mounting theenclosure, but this gives the installer full control over selecting the appropriate circuit breaker characteristics for specific loads.
