Compensating chokes – optimizing the operation of electrical installations
Compensating chokes of the INK 3 type are elements used to correct the power factor in electrical installations. Their task is to compensate for capacitive reactive power, which is particularly important in the case of long cable lines with low load, server rooms with UPS power supplies, and facilities with a large amount of LED lighting. Using these chokes allows for increased energy efficiency and reduced costs associated with reactive power consumption.
The construction of INK 3 chokes is based on a winding made of copper (Cu), standardly protected by vacuum impregnation in class H varnish, hardened in an oven. This ensures high durability and reliable operation in various environmental conditions. These chokes are also characterized by high quality workmanship and meet the PN-EN 60076-6 standard. Additionally, they are equipped with a normally open bimetallic circuit breaker, which protects the circuit from overload.
Various models of INK 3 chokes are available with power from 0.25 kVAr to 30 kVAr, allowing you to choose the appropriate solution for specific installation needs. The selection of the appropriate compensating choke should be preceded by an analysis of the electrical network parameters and the demand for reactive power. Mounting is carried out using angle brackets, and the IP00 degree of protection indicates that it is intended for use indoors. Climate class C1/E0 ensures resistance to moisture and contamination.
