Purpose and functionality

S116WP is a 16-port PoE switch designed to efficiently power IP cameras operating according to the IEEE 802.3af/at standard. The device automatically detects PoE/PoE+ powered devices, simplifying the installation and configuration of the video surveillance system. Thanks to this solution, there is no need to use additional power cables for each camera – everything works over a single Ethernet cable. The switch also has two 1Gb/s Uplink ports, allowing it to be connected to the backbone network or other network devices.

Technical characteristics and application

The S116WP switch offers 16 PoE 10/100 Mb/s ports, each capable of delivering up to 30W of power. The total PoE output power is 240W. The Long Range function allows data and power transmission over a distance of up to 250 meters at a speed of 10 Mb/s (ports 9-16), which is particularly useful in extensive installations. This allows cameras to be placed in locations far from the power source without signal loss. Additionally, the switch has optical LED signaling, informing about the operating status of individual ports.

Installation and additional information

The device can be mounted both in a standard way on a desk and in a 19" rack cabinet using the included mounting brackets. Power is supplied via an external 48-54V DC power source (not included). The switch complies with the PN-EN 60950-1:2007 Class I standard and is covered by a two-year manufacturer's warranty from the date of production. The lack of a power supply in the set provides flexibility in choosing the appropriate model, tailored to the specific needs of the installation – you can choose a power supply with appropriate power and protection.
