16-port PoE switch SF116 for 16 IP cameras

Purpose and functionality

SF116 is a 16-port PoE switch designed to efficiently power IP cameras operating according to the IEEE 802.3af/at standard. The device automatically detects PoE/PoE+ powered devices, simplifying the installation and configuration of the monitoring system. This solution eliminates the need for additional power supplies for each camera, resulting in lower costs and easier installation. The switch also has uplink ports, allowing integration with existing network infrastructure.

Construction and expandability

The SF116 switch offers a total of 18 ports: 16 PoE ports (10/100 Mb/s) for connecting IP cameras, and two uplink ports – two RJ45 (10/100/1000 Mb/s) and two SFP slots (1000 Mb/s). The SFP slots allow the use of fiber optics, which increases the data transmission range and resistance to interference. Please note that ports G1/TP and G1/SFP and G2/TP and G2/SFP cannot operate simultaneously. The device housing is designed for mounting in a 19" rack, taking up 1U of space, and mounting brackets are included.

Technical parameters and application

The device provides PoE power of up to 30W per port (total of 240W for all ports), compliant with the IEEE 802.3af/at standard. Supported are conductor pairs 1/2 (+) and 3/6 (-) for power transmission. The SF116 switch supports standards IEEE802.3, 802.3u, 802.3x and protocols CSMA/CD and TCP/IP. Thanks to the auto-learning and auto-aging MAC address function (a table of 16K size), the switch optimizes data flow in the network. Optical LED signaling informs about the operating status of the device – power supply, connection and PoE status for each port. The switch is powered in the range of ~100-240 V AC, and the operating temperature is from -10°C to +40°C.
