This 24-port PoE switch is an ideal solution for video surveillance systems where reliable power to IP cameras is crucial. The device, operating according to the IEEE 802.3af/at standard, automatically detects PoE/PoE+ powered devices on ports 1 to 24, simplifying installation and eliminating the need for separate power supplies for each camera. Two additional Uplink ports (10/100/1000 Mb/s) allow easy connection to the network and system expansion.

Functionality and application

The S124WP switch is designed for professional monitoring installations, but will also work well in home security systems. Thanks to PoE technology, it is possible to simultaneously transmit data and power network devices – such as IP cameras, VoIP phones or access points – using a single Ethernet cable. This not only reduces installation costs but also increases convenience and order. Long Range mode (up to 250m at 10 Mb/s) allows for flexible camera placement even in large areas.

Construction and mounting

The device is characterized by a solid construction and compact dimensions (330 x 44 x 204 mm). The possibility of mounting in a 19” rack (thanks to the included brackets) and on a flat surface provides flexibility in choosing the installation location. LED optical signaling of the operating status (power, connection, PoE) facilitates diagnostics and device monitoring. It is important to remember to select the appropriate power supply – a model with parameters of 48-54 V DC and a power of at least 7.5 A is recommended. Also, pay attention to the total power consumption of connected devices; the maximum power of a single port is 30W, and the total power for all PoE ports should not exceed 360W.
