Buffered switch-mode power supply – reliable power supply for security systems

This buffered switch-mode power supply, designed for built-in installation, is a key element of alarm systems, access control and video surveillance. It provides a stable voltage of 27.6 V DC with a current of 5 A, guaranteeing continuous operation of connected devices even in the event of a mains power failure. The power supply design allows for connecting two batteries with a capacity of up to 40 Ah each, providing long-term power backup. The device meets the requirements of EN50131-6 (Grade 3) and EN60839-11 standards, confirming its high quality and reliability.

Functionality and safety

The power supply is characterized by high efficiency (up to 86%), which translates into energy savings. It has built-in protection against short circuit (SCP), overload (OLP), overvoltage (OVP) and deep battery discharge (UVP). Additionally, it protects against reverse battery connection and has a tamper-proof protection against opening the housing. A built-in microprocessor manages the battery charging process, compensating for temperature changes and performing automatic battery status tests. LED optical signaling informs about the status of the mains power supply, battery charging and any failures. Technical OC (open collector) outputs are also available for remote monitoring of the power supply status and alarm signaling.

Installation and application

The power supply is designed for surface mounting. Its compact dimensions allow for easy adaptation to different spaces. It is ideal for alarm systems requiring a high level of security (Grade 3), as well as access control and video surveillance systems. The ability to manually start the power supply from the battery (START function) facilitates system testing and ensures a quick switch to emergency power in case of need. Using appropriately selected batteries (2 x 7Ah, 17Ah, 24Ah or 40Ah) allows you to adjust the power backup time to individual user needs.
