SFP+ GBIC-205 module, single-mode, 10G 1330/1270nm (LC) 20KM DOM (TORNADO)
Light module SFP+ for transmission up to 20 km
This SFP+ module (Small Form-factor Pluggable), also known as GBIC (Gigabit Interface Converter), is used to convert an electrical signal to an optical signal. It is a key component in the construction of fiber optic networks, enabling data transmission at a speed of 10 Gb/s over a distance of up to 20 kilometers. The GBIC-205 Tornado module is designed to operate with single-mode fiber (SM) and utilizes two pairs of optical fibers terminated with LC connectors.
Key features and application
The GBIC-205 module uses wavelengths of 1330 nm for transmission (Tx) and 1270 nm for reception (Rx). The use of two different wavelengths allows for efficient bidirectional transmission over a single optical fiber. The LC connector with a locking system ensures a secure connection and prevents accidental disconnection. The built-in Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) circuit enables real-time monitoring of module operating parameters, such as supply voltage, temperature, and transmitted and received signal power. This facilitates quick detection and resolution of network problems.
Important: For correct communication between devices, it is necessary to use the GBIC-206 module on the other side of the connection.
Technical specifications and compatibility
The module is compatible with IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR/LW standards, ensuring interoperability with a wide range of network devices. It is designed to operate in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for use in various environmental conditions. The module is powered via the SFP port (3.3V DC). It is compatible with devices from various manufacturers, including TP-LINK and ULTIPOWER, but may not work with devices using protection against the use of modules other than original ones. It supports various types of single-mode optical fibers: 8.3/125 µm, 8.7/125 µm, 9/125 µm and 10/125 µm.
