The GBIC-103 SFP module is a component designed to convert electrical signals to optical, enabling data transmission over single-mode fiber (SM). Designed to work with an SC connector, this module is used in LAN networks and IP surveillance systems. Its WDM-based design allows for efficient transmission using a single fiber optic cable.

Key features and applications

The GBIC-103 module provides stable data transmission at a distance of up to 20 km at a speed of 1.25 Gb/s. Thanks to the built-in DDM (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring) system, it is possible to monitor key operating parameters of the module in real time, such as supply voltage, temperature and optical signal power. This facilitates diagnostics and quick troubleshooting. The module is compatible with devices from various manufacturers, such as TP-LINK and Cisco, but it should be remembered that it does not work with devices equipped with advanced security systems.

Specifications and compatibility

The module supports single-mode fibers with a core diameter of 8.3/125 μm, 8.7/125 μm, 9/125 μm and 10/125 μm. The module operates according to the IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-FX standard, and is powered via the SFP port (3.3 V DC). It is worth noting that to ensure correct communication with another device, it is recommended to use the GBIC-104 module. The snap-in locking system of the SC optical connector ensures a stable connection and prevents accidental disconnection of the cable.

This module is characterized by a Tx wavelength of 1310 nm and an Rx wavelength of 1550 nm. It is offered with a two-year warranty from the date of manufacture and can operate at a temperature of 0 to 70°C with a humidity of up to 85%.
