Underfloor heating pipe – reliability and durability of the installation

PexPenta PE-Xc pipe with Velcro is a high-quality solution dedicated to underfloor heating systems. Made of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xc), it is characterized by exceptional strength, flexibility and resistance to external factors. Thanks to the five-layer construction, the pipe combines the advantages of different materials, ensuring optimal operating parameters for years.

The pipe is supplied in a coil 120 meters long, wrapped with a special Velcro tape, which facilitates its attachment to Klettjet insulating mats – accelerating and simplifying installation. The outer diameter of the pipe is 16 mm, and the wall thickness is 2 mm. The orange color makes it easier to identify the pipe during installation.

Construction and properties

The key to the unique properties of PexPenta is its unique structure. The inner layer of PE-Xc provides high resistance to temperature and aggressive media, as well as flexibility allowing it to stretch and return to its original shape after heating. A centrally located EVOH anti-diffusion barrier effectively prevents oxygen from penetrating the installation, protecting it from corrosion and extending its lifespan. The thermal conductivity of 0.42 W/(m.K) ensures efficient heat distribution in the underfloor heating system.

Additionally, the pipe has an anti-diffusion zone, which further increases its tightness and reliability. The water content in the pipe is 0.113 l/m. The pipe meets the standards EN ISO 21003 and DIN 4726, which confirms its high quality and safety of use. The maximum working pressure is PN6, and the maximum operating temperature is 90°C.
