This iCARE M5 ePM10 55% dust filter is a key element in mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery, especially in Rotenso Wentilo ICON recuperators. Its task is to protect the internal components of the recuperator, and above all the heat exchanger, from contaminants such as dust, pollen, sand or insects. This translates to a longer service life of the device and maintaining high heat exchange efficiency.

This filter not only protects the recuperation itself, but also affects the air quality in the entire house. By trapping initial dirt, it allows for a free flow of cleaner air, which is important for the comfort and health of users.

Filter construction and features

The iCARE M5 ePM10 55% filter is distinguished by its construction based on minipleat technology. This means using a finely pleated filter insert, which significantly increases its filtration surface area. A larger surface area means a greater capacity to retain contaminants and a longer filter life. In addition, the use of gluing maintaining a constant distance between the pleats ensures a uniform airflow over the entire filter surface.

The rigid filter frame and circumferential seal guarantee a tight fit and eliminate the risk of uncleaned air entering the ventilation system. A convenient handle for replacement further enhances ease of use. The filter and central unit housing have markings indicating the direction of airflow – facilitating correct installation.

Performance and compliance with standards

The filter efficiency is 55% for particles of 10 micrometers in size (ePM10), which means it stops a significant portion of suspended dust. It meets the requirements of class M5/EU5 according to EN 779:2012 and ISO 16890 standards. High filtration efficiency with relatively low air flow resistance translates into energy savings on electricity consumed by the recuperator fans. The filter is made of glass microfiber placed in a frame of waterproof cardboard coated with foil.
