Professional electrical installation protection

The C120N-B100A-3P circuit breaker (cat. no. A9N18350) from the Acti9 series by Schneider Electric is designed for comprehensive electrical circuit protection in industrial and commercial applications. The three-pole design ensures simultaneous protection of all three phases, eliminating the risk of load asymmetry and protecting loads from the effects of overloads and short circuits.

Construction and technical characteristics

The device features a B tripping characteristic. The thermal delayed mechanism reacts to long-term overloads exceeding the rated value, while the electromagnetic trip breaker immediately interrupts the circuit during high-amplitude current short circuits.

The rated current is 100A, allowing for the protection of high-power circuits while maintaining an appropriate safety margin. The rated voltage of 400V AC enables operation in three-phase networks, and the frequency range of 50-60 Hz covers standard installation requirements in Poland and Europe.

Operating parameters and safety

The rated short-circuit breaking capacity reaches 10kA in accordance with the EN 60898 standard at 400V. Additionally, the device meets the requirements of the IEC 60947-2 standard, achieving a capacity of 20kA at 230V, making it suitable for the most demanding applications.

Energy limiting class 3 and overvoltage category 4 provide resistance to atmospheric and switching surges, protecting sensitive electronic devices from damage.

Mounting and operation

The device is mounted on a standard 35mm DIN rail, occupying only 4.5 modules (approximately 80mm wide), which allows for economical use of distribution board space. A mounting depth of only 44mm enables installation even in shallow distribution boards.

Connection flexibility allows for the use of single-core wires with a cross-section of 1.5-50mm² or multi-core wires of 1-35mm², covering most standard installation applications.

The operating temperature range from -25°C to +70°C allows for use both inside buildings and in unheated technical rooms, warehouses, or production halls.

The IP20 protection rating protects against accidental contact with live parts, while simultaneously ensuring free internal ventilation of the device for optimal dissipation of heat generated during normal operation (power loss of only 2W).
