Safety and protection in one device

This combined circuit breaker (RCBO) from the Acti9 iCV40N series combines overcurrent and residual current protection functions, eliminating the need to install two separate devices in the distribution board. The device with a rated current of 16 A and B tripping characteristic is dedicated to circuits where large inrush currents do not occur, making it an ideal choice for lighting installations, domestic sockets, or circuits with smaller loads. Thanks to the use of 30 mA sensitivity (type A), it ensures effective protection of persons against electric shock from indirect contact and protects the installation against fire hazards resulting from current leakage.

Ease of installation and operational reliability

For the installer, ease of work and connection certainty are key. This model features universal terminals allowing for the connection of single-core wires with a cross-section from 1 to 16 mm² and multi-core wires in the range of 1–10 mm², which significantly facilitates cable selection without the need for additional ferrules in many cases. The device width is 5 modules (45 mm), and the installation depth is only 44 mm, allowing for efficient use of space in distribution cabinets. It is worth noting that the device features a lever lock in the OFF position, which prevents accidental reconnection during service work.

The device is characterized by high resistance to environmental conditions – it can operate in temperatures from -25 °C to +60 °C, making it useful also in unheated utility rooms or garages. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity (Icn) is 6 kA, and the energy limiting class is class 3, which means fast and safe disconnection in the event of a short circuit. The rated insulation voltage reaches 440 V, and the impulse withstand voltage Uimp is 4 kV, providing a solid barrier against network surges.

Visual status signaling and service safety

One of the most practical features of this model is the VisiTrip and VisiSafe visual indicator system. A red mechanical indicator on the front panel clearly signals an emergency trip, and thanks to two unique indicators, the cause of the trip can be quickly identified – whether it was an overload/short circuit (overcurrent) or current leakage (residual current). This is a significant facilitation when diagnosing faults in complex installations. The green VisiSafe strip, on the other hand, provides physical certainty of contact opening, which is crucial for safety during maintenance or replacement of devices connected to this circuit.

The device meets strict EN/IEC 61009-2-1 standards and complies with overvoltage category III and pollution degree III. Thanks to its instantaneous action, it reacts immediately to detected danger, minimizing the time the installation and users are exposed to risk. This is an "all-in-one" solution that simplifies electrical diagrams and increases their reliability without compromising safety.
