The Acti9 iCV40N series combination switch is an RCBO solution that combines the functions of an MCB and an RCCB. The device with a rated current of 16 A and C tripping characteristic is designed for three-phase installations (3P+N), where it protects circuits against overloads, short circuits, and electric shock. Thanks to the use of 30 mA sensitivity in type A, the device effectively responds to leakage currents, including pulsating DC currents, which is crucial for modern electronic devices.

A high short-circuit breaking capacity of 6 kA (according to EN/IEC 61009-2-1) ensures reliable protection even in the event of serious faults in the 400 V network. The device operates instantaneously, meaning immediate power disconnection upon detecting a dangerous state, minimizing the risk of fire or installation damage.

Installation comfort and diagnostics for the installer

For a professional, speed of installation and easy diagnostics are key. This model stands out with unique visual indicators:

• VisiTrip – a two-color indicator (white-red) informs not only about the fact of tripping but also indicates the cause: whether it was an overload/short circuit (overcurrent) or a leakage current (residual current). This saves time during servicing.
• VisiSafe – a green strip confirms the physical opening of the contacts, which is essential for safety during maintenance work under voltage or after disconnection.

Mounting is performed on a DIN rail using "clip-on" fasteners. The device occupies a width of 5 modules (45 mm based on the 9 mm/module standard), and the installation depth is only 44 mm, allowing for compact arrangement in distribution boards. Tunnel-type terminals allow for the connection of single-core wires up to 16 mm² and multi-core wires up to 10 mm², providing great flexibility with different types of cabling. It is worth noting that the neutral pole (N) is disconnected simultaneously with the phases, increasing the safety of the entire installation.

Application and operating conditions

The device is ideal for main and group distribution boards in residential and public buildings, where electric shock and fire protection are required in a single housing. It is compatible with Schneider Electric busbars and connection blocks.

The device operates stably at a rated voltage of 400 V AC and a frequency of 50/60 Hz, responding to leakage currents instantaneously due to its instantaneous characteristic. Key for safety are parameters such as energy limitation class III and resistance to current surges up to 250 A, allowing it to cope in difficult environmental conditions (pollution degree 3). The impulse withstand voltage of the insulation at 4 kV further strengthens the electrical system's resistance. Mechanical and electrical durability of up to 20,000 cycles guarantees a long service life even under intensive use. The protection also features a lever mechanism lock, which prevents accidental switching or manipulation by unauthorized persons. The IP20 protection rating ensures safety against contact with moving parts, and after mounting in a modular enclosure, it reaches an IP40 level.
