Three-phase energy meter with indirect measurement for professional installations
The KWH IEM3210 meter is an advanced measuring device from the Schneider Electric Acti9 iEM3000 series, designed for precise monitoring of electrical energy consumption in three-phase installations. The device is designed for professional applications in commercial, industrial buildings, and public utility facilities.
Construction and technical parameters
The durable electronic housing with dimensions of 90×95×69 mm occupies a standard 5 modules on a DIN rail, facilitating integration with existing switchboards. The IP20 protection rating ensures safe use in industrial environments. The LCD display with a digital indicator allows for a clear reading of operating parameters and energy values.
The device supports a wide range of operating voltages: from 100 to 277V for N-L connections and from 173 to 480V for L-L, at a mains frequency of 50 or 60 Hz. The rated current is 5A (maximum up to 6A), and measurement is performed indirectly via current transformers with values of 1A or 5A.
Measuring system and accuracy
The meter provides a high accuracy class for active energy measurement - class C according to EN 50470-3 and class B according to EN 50470-3. The device measures active and reactive power as well as active and reactive energy in accordance with IEC 62053-21 and IEC 61557-12 standards.
Additional local signaling includes a green LED indicator confirming the device's power supply and a flashing yellow LED used to check the correctness of measurements. Nine meter positions enable precise reading of various energy parameters.
Communication functionality and outputs
The device is equipped with one digital S0 type pulse output with an adjustable frequency from 0 to 500 pulses per kWh/kvarh. The pulse output enables integration with energy monitoring systems and building automation.
The Modbus communication protocol with screw terminal support allows for easy connection to energy management systems. Single-tariff configuration simplifies implementation in simple billing applications.
Professional applications
The meter finds particular use in sub-billing systems, where it enables the allocation of energy costs between different tenants or facility users. It is also ideal as a partial metering device in extensive electrical installations of office buildings, shopping centers, or industrial plants.
The device supports single-phase and neutral configurations as well as three-phase and three-phase with neutral wire.

The meter holds the MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) certificate, confirming its suitability for commercial billing of electrical energy consumption. It meets CE, UL, and EAC standards, guaranteeing safety of use and compliance with international technical standards.
The device construction is adapted for operation in industrial conditions, category III regarding overvoltages.
