Motor circuit breaker for motor and installation protection

This three-pole TeSys GV4 motor circuit breaker provides reliable protection for your motors and electrical installations. Designed for operation in networks with a voltage of 690 V, it offers effective protection against overload and short circuit. A rated continuous current of 13 A and a short-circuit breaking capacity of 50 kA at 400 V AC ensure safety even under demanding operating conditions.

Functionality and application

The GV4PE12N breaker features a thermomagnetic tripping characteristic, meaning it responds to both overload and short-circuit conditions. The adjustable overload trip range of 5–12.5 A allows precise tuning to specific application requirements. Thanks to phase loss sensitivity, the breaker also protects the motor in the event of a lost phase—a common cause of damage. It is suitable for AC-3 circuits with a power rating of up to 5.5 kW at 400 V and 3 kW at 230 V.

Construction and installation

The breaker is a complete, enclosed unit ready for installation. EverLink terminals enable fast and secure cable connections via screws. The lever actuator simplifies device operation. The IP40 protection rating guards against contact with solid foreign objects larger than 1 mm and against accidental touch. Compact dimensions (81 x 155 x 116 mm) allow installation in space-constrained environments, while low power losses of only 13.8 W minimize impact on system energy efficiency.
