Motor starter for protecting motors and installations

The TeSys GV4 motor starter is a reliable protection for electric motors and power supply installations. Designed to operate in demanding conditions, it provides effective protection against overload and short circuit. Thanks to its compact dimensions (81 mm width, 155 mm height and 165 mm depth) it is easy to mount in distribution boards and control cabinets.

Functionality and application

The device is designed to protect three-phase circuits with a rated current of up to 13A. The rated operating power for AC-3 at 400V is 5.5 kW, and at 230V – 3 kW. The thermal release in the setting range of 5-12.5A protects the motor against overload, and the short-circuit release with a value of 213A ensures a quick response in the event of a short circuit. The short-circuit breaking capacity Icu at 50kA at 400V AC guarantees the safety of the installation even in the event of high surge currents. The built-in phase failure sensitivity further increases the reliability of protection, preventing damage to the motor caused by voltage asymmetry.

Construction and mounting

The TeSys GV4 starter has a complete device in a housing, which facilitates its installation and use. The connection of the main contacts is made using screw connections, ensuring a secure and durable connection of the wires. The knob is used to adjust the settings of the overload release, allowing you to adapt the protection to the specific needs of the application. The degree of protection IP40 provides protection against access to live parts and against the influence of the external environment. EverLink terminals guarantee quick and safe installation of wires, minimizing the risk of errors during installation. Power losses are 13.8W, which translates to efficient energy use.
