Functionality and application

This four-pole RCD with a rated current of 40A and a sensitivity of 30mA (type Si) is designed to protect AC circuits with a voltage of 400V. Type Si means that the RCD reacts to both AC and pulsating DC leakage currents – which is particularly important in modern installations with electronic devices. Application in circuits with a conductor cross-section of 1 to 35 mm² (solid core) or 1 to 25 mm² (stranded) ensures wide compatibility with various types of wiring. This RCD is used to protect lighting circuits, socket outlets and electrical appliances exposed to the risk of electric shock.

Construction and characteristic features

The construction based on Acti9 technology guarantees high reliability and long life. Short-circuit strength at 1.5kA and surge current withstand of 3kA provide effective protection even in the event of serious disturbances in the network.
