This residual current device with integrated overcurrent protection combines the functions of two devices, significantly simplifying installation in single-phase distribution boards. The device with a rated current of 32 A and a sensitivity of 30 mA (type A) effectively protects the installation against electric shock, as well as overloads and short circuits. Thanks to the type B tripping characteristic, it reacts not only to direct currents but also to alternating currents, making it suitable for protecting circuits with modern electronics, LED light sources, or devices with rectifiers. A rated short-circuit capacity of 6 kA ensures reliable operation even in the event of serious network disturbances, eliminating the need for additional pre-breakers.

Ease of installation and fast fault diagnosis

For the installer, speed of work and the ability to quickly locate the cause of a trip are crucial. This model is equipped with a dual-section operating lever and the Visi-Trip and Visi-Safe visual signaling system.

  • Visi-Trip indicator (white-red) informs about the electrical tripping of the device – allowing one to distinguish a trip caused by a short circuit or overload from a residual current trip.
  • Visi-Safe indicator (green) confirms the physical opening of the contacts, which is crucial during live service work or when replacing components.

Additionally, the device features a padlock lockout, which increases safety during maintenance work by preventing accidental switching on by unauthorized persons. The ability to connect wires with cross-sections from 1 to 16 mm² (single-core) and up to 10 mm² (multi-core) provides great flexibility when connecting different types of cables without the need for ferrules in the case of smaller cross-sections. A width of 2 DIN modules allows for efficient use of space in the distribution cabinet while maintaining full functionality.

Application and operating conditions

The device is designed for operation in alternating current (AC) installations with a rated voltage of 230 V. It is ideal for applications in single-family houses, apartments, and small commercial premises where additional protection against electric shock and protection of end circuits against overloads is required.

  • The device can operate safely in an ambient temperature from -25 °C to +60 °C, allowing for its installation also in unheated utility rooms or garages.
  • IP20 class protects against access to hazardous parts with fingers or tools with a diameter greater than 12 mm, which is standard for apparatus mounted in enclosed distribution boards.
  • Compliance with EN/IEC 61009-1 standards ensures conformity with the requirements for residual current devices with overcurrent protection used in building installations.

It is worth remembering to regularly check the correct operation of the device using the "T" test button, which should be performed once a year during the first years of use. This ensures that the residual current mechanism works correctly and will fulfill its role in the event of an installation failure or load damage. Energy limiting class III guarantees rapid circuit disconnection during a short circuit, minimizing thermal and dynamic effects for the entire electrical installation. Parameters such as an impulse withstand voltage of 4 kV or current impulse resistance of 0.25 kA further strengthen the device's resistance to extreme network conditions.
