The device reacts to leakage currents of 30 mA, which is the standard for socket and lighting circuits, ensuring protection of life in case of contact with live parts. At the same time, it protects the installation against overloads and short circuits thanks to the C tripping characteristic, which allows for the safe startup of devices with motors (e.g., refrigerators, pumps) without causing nuisance tripping during short-term inrush current spikes.

Thanks to the use of Visi-Trip and Visi-Safe technology, diagnostics of the installation status are immediate and intuitive. The two-part lever and color indicators (white-red for electrical tripping, green for open contacts) allow for quick localization of the cause of the failure – whether it was a leakage current or a short circuit – without the need to dismantle the distribution cover. This is particularly useful in critical situations where response time is crucial for user safety and continuity of power supply.

Ease of installation and versatility of applications

Installers will appreciate the flexibility of wire connection and the compact design of the device. The switch occupies only 2 modules of width on the DIN rail (44 mm depth), allowing for optimal use of space in domestic and commercial distribution boards. The use of terminals allowing for the connection of wires with cross-sections from 1 to 10 mm² (multi-core) and up to 16 mm² (single-core) eliminates the need for additional ferrules in most typical installations. The possibility of mounting the power supply from both the top and bottom facilitates wiring in tight spaces of distribution cabinets.

The device is adapted to work in a wide range of ambient temperatures, from -25 °C to +60 °C, making it suitable not only for heated residential interiors but also for utility rooms or unheated garages. The IP20 protection rating ensures safety against accidental contact with live parts, and the energy limiting class 3 guarantees effective suppression of short-circuit effects before critical current values are reached.

Features facilitating operation and diagnostics

The device is characterized by a rated current of 20 A at a mains voltage of 230 V AC and has a breaking capacity of 6 kA. This is a single-pole model with a disconnected neutral pole (1P+N), designed for operation in alternating current networks with a frequency of 50 Hz. The mounting width is 2 DIN modules, and the depth is 44 mm, which facilitates installation in standard modular distribution boards.

In practice, this means high sensitivity to leakage currents of approximately 30 mA (type A), ideal for general-purpose circuits, while simultaneously accepting wide ranges of wires – from 1 to 16 mm² for single-core conductors and 1 to 10 mm² for multi-core conductors. The device maintains operational stability in temperatures from -25 °C to +60 °C, and its IP20 protection rating effectively isolates live parts. An additional advantage is the mechanical padlock lockout preventing accidental switching on and the "T" test button, which allows for checking the correct operation of the residual current mechanism once a year. Thanks to the energy limiting class 3 and resistance to current surges up to 0.25 kA, the device provides solid protection for both people and property against the effects of short circuits and overvoltages.
