Residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection iDPNNVigi-C32-30-A C 32A 1-pole + neutral 30 mA type A A9D32632
Safety and Protection in a Single Device
This residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection combines functions of shock protection and circuit protection against overloads and short circuits. The device with a rated current of 32 A and sensitivity of 30 mA (Type A) is dedicated to single-phase circuits where a fast response to leakage currents, including pulsating ones, is required. Thanks to its Type C tripping characteristic, the device handles short-duration inrush current spikes, making it suitable for protecting circuits powering motors, transformers, or halogen lighting. A rated short-circuit breaking capacity of 6 kA ensures that in the event of a serious short circuit, the device safely disconnects the circuit without risking damage to its own construction.
Installation Comfort and Diagnostics for the Installer
In practical installation, speed and certainty of operation are crucial. This Acti9 series model features a two-part operating handle that visually indicates which element (overcurrent or residual current) caused the trip. This is a significant convenience when diagnosing faults in distribution boards – there is no need to guess the cause of voltage loss. Additionally, the presence of Visi-Trip (white-red) and Visi-Safe (green) indicators allows immediate confirmation of contact status: whether the device has tripped electrically or whether the contacts are physically open. This is particularly important during maintenance work under voltage or when replacing damaged components.
DIN rail mounting occupies minimal space – the device takes up only 2 modules, allowing optimal use of space in residential and industrial distribution boards. Conductors with cross-sections from 1 to 16 mm² (solid) or 1 to 10 mm² (stranded) can be connected directly, eliminating the need for additional terminals in many cases. The wide operating temperature range from -25 °C to 60 °C ensures the device performs not only in heated residential buildings but also in unheated garages or seasonal workshops.
Application and Compliance with Standards
The device is intended for alternating current (AC) networks with a rated voltage of 230 V. The rated insulation voltage is 400 V, and the energy limitation class is Class 3, indicating high effectiveness in reducing energy flowing during a short circuit before its complete interruption. Protection class IP20 ensures safety against contact with moving parts by unauthorized persons but requires installation in a covered distribution box.
Thanks to technology enabling simultaneous disconnection of the N pole along with the phase, full circuit isolation from the supply network is ensured after the protective device operates. The "T" test button allows verification of the correct operation of the residual current mechanism once a year for the first 7 years of operation – a standard procedure required to maintain installation safety in accordance with construction and industrial standards (EN/IEC 60898 and EN/IEC 60947-2).
