This staircase switch with backlight, belonging to the Sedna Design & Elements series by Schneider Electric, combines functionality and modern design. It is ideal for both new installations and renovations. Made of high-quality thermoplastic material, it is resistant to damage and UV radiation, guaranteeing its durability. The beige color and glossy surface finish allow it to be matched to various interior arrangements.

Construction and installation

The switch is designed for flush-mounting, providing an aesthetic look of the installation. Solid claws with a self-return function facilitate its stable positioning in the installation box. Compact dimensions (73 mm width, 73 mm height and 37 mm depth) allow installation even in limited space. Screwless terminals significantly speed up and simplify the process of connecting wires, eliminating the risk of loosening connections. The minimum depth of the mounting box is 40 mm.

Functionality and safety

The staircase switch with a rated current of 10 A and a voltage of 250 V ensures safe lighting control. It has a protection degree of IP20, which means protection against touching with a finger and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. Additional backlight increases comfort of use, especially in darkness or poor lighting. Made of halogen-free materials, it contributes to improving fire safety. Characteristic C allows it to react more slowly to short current surges, therefore it tolerates starting devices with a motor well. It protects the circuit against overload and short circuit — like most circuit breakers in this class.
