Lux meter LXP-10A with calibration certificate WMGBLXP10A
Precision of light measurement in Class A
This device offers the possibility of performing highly accurate illuminance measurements, which is crucial during audits in public facilities, on evacuation routes, or in industrial zones. Thanks to the use of the LP-10A probe and compliance with Class A requirements, the meter ensures reliable results without the need for additional correction factors. The spectral sensitivity of the device is matched to the CIE curve, meaning the instrument reacts to light in the same way as the human eye – regardless of whether we are measuring LED lighting, fluorescent tubes, or traditional incandescent bulbs.
A resolution of 0.001 lx allows for the detection of even minimal changes in light intensity, which is invaluable when checking emergency lighting. Meanwhile, the maximum measurement range reaches 399 900 lx, making the device suitable for both dark technical rooms and brightly lit production halls. Six automatic measurement ranges ensure optimal precision at every point on the scale – from subtle shadows to very strong light sources.
Functionality and ease of field work
For installers and technicians, accuracy is not the only concern; speed and ease of reading results are also important. A large LCD display with backlight and a 40-segment bargraph allow for quick monitoring of light intensity changes even in difficult lighting conditions. The device features a range of functions that facilitate work:
- Data-hold – freezes the current value on the screen, allowing for convenient recording of the result without having to look directly at the probe.
- Peak-hold – records the peak value of a light pulse lasting from 0.1 to 1 second (e.g., during lamp flickering).
- MIN/MAX – automatically indicates the lowest and highest values measured during a given measurement cycle.
- Relative reading (REL) – enables comparison of results with a base value.
The device's memory allows for storage of up to 999 results, which can later be read directly from the meter or transferred to a computer using the included USB cable. For longer-term studies, there is also a data logger function capable of recording up to 16 000 values. This allows for long-term lighting monitoring without the operator being present at the device.
Application and key construction features
The meter is designed for operation at temperatures from 0°C to 50°C and is powered by a 9 V battery or an 8.4 V rechargeable battery (optional). The set includes a calibration certificate, which is important for companies requiring regular equipment calibration (the recommended interval is 12 months). The construction of the measurement probe with a cable approximately 150 cm long provides great maneuverability during measurements in hard-to-reach places.
In terms of technical parameters, the device stands out with Class A accuracy and a cosine correction error not exceeding ±3%, guaranteeing result stability even during measurements at an angle of incidence. The basic accuracy is ±(2% of the measured value + 5 digits), and six automatic ranges allow for precise readings from thousandths of a lux up to values in the hundreds of thousands of lux. Data is stored in internal memory accommodating 999 points or as a logger for up to 16 000 values, with transfer occurring via the USB interface or optionally via a radio link (OR-1 adapter required). The main unit measures 170 x 80 x 40 mm and weighs approximately 390 g (without battery), facilitating portability and field work.
The device is equipped with an automatic power-off function after a set time (5, 10, or 15 minutes), extending operation time on a single set of batteries. The included computer software facilitates archiving and analysis of collected data directly from the PC. The entire package is supplied in a hard transport case, protecting the equipment during transportbetween sites.
