Insulation Resistance Tester with MIC-5010 Calibration Certificate WMPLMIC5010

Advanced Insulation Diagnostics with Full Voltage Range

The MIC-5010 instrument is a professional tool designed for precise insulation resistance measurements in low-voltage and medium-voltage installations. The device stands out with its ability to adjust the test voltage over a very wide range – from 50 V to 5000 V, with selectable steps of 10 V (up to 1000 V) or 25 V (above 1000 V). This flexibility allows the measurement conditions to be adapted to the specifics of the object under test, whether it is delicate electronics or long cable lines. The maximum measurable insulation resistance reaches an impressive 15 TΩ, making it useful even for testing highly insulated systems.

The built-in algorithm automatically detects the presence of mains voltage on the object under test. If it detects a mains-type AC voltage, the measurement will be blocked for the operator's safety. In the case of inductive voltage (e.g., from nearby lines), the instrument will allow the test to be performed, increasing its utility in difficult field conditions. After each measurement cycle, the device automatically discharges the object under test, eliminating the risk of electric shock from residual electrostatic charge.

Analytical Functions and Operational Safety

For engineers requiring a deeper analysis of the insulation condition, the meter offers the calculation of dielectric absorption coefficients: DAR (Dielectric Absorption Ratio), PI (Polarization Index), and the Dielectric Discharge factor (DD). It is also possible to perform step-voltage (SV) measurements, which allow observation of resistance changes at gradually increasing voltage – this method is key to detecting local insulation defects.

Safety during operation is guaranteed not only by electronic functions but also by the high quality of the supplied accessories. Test leads, probes, and alligator clips have voltage ratings of up to 11 kV and 5.5 kV respectively, meeting rigorous safety standards. Thanks to high immunity to electromagnetic interference, leads up to 20 meters long can be used without losing reading precision. The device has an IP67 protection rating (with the cover closed), allowing operation in harsh environmental conditions, and the measurement category CAT IV 600 V / CAT III 1000 V ensures operator protection in distribution installations.

Data Organization and User Ergonomics

Work efficiency is enhanced by built-in mass storage, which allows saving up to 990 result sets (totaling over 11,880 individual entries). These data can later be transferred to a PC via a standard USB cable or wirelessly via an additional OR-1 adapter, facilitating report creation and archiving of installation inspection history. The digital display provides a clear readout of current values and auxiliary parameters, such as actual test voltage or leakage current.

The device is powered by a built-in battery and weighs approximately 7 kg, making it a portable tool with dimensions of approx. 39 x 31 x 17 cm. A convenient carrying case is included in the standard set to protect the equipment during transport between sites. Key operational parameters to remember: the insulation resistance range reaches 15 TΩ, and the test voltage is adjustable from 50 to 5000 V. The maximum test current is 3 mA (or optionally 1.2 mA), supporting rapid charging of high-capacity objects. The result memory handles 990 records, and the protection rating is IP67 with the cover closed. The device meets the measurement category CAT IV 600 V / CAT III 1000 V and is powered by a built-in battery, with communication to a PC via USB or wirelessly (OR-1 option).

Thanks to the calibration certificate included with the device, the user can be certain of the accuracy of the tests performed from the moment the equipment is started. The MIC-5010 is a solution combining high measurement precision with the safety features essential for modern electrical diagnostics.
