Multifunctional electrical installation parameter meter with Calibration Certificate MPI-520 Start WMPLMPI520S
Comprehensive Electrical Installation Testing in a Single Device
The Sonel MPI-520 Start multifunctional electrical installation tester is designed for the daily work of installers and measurement specialists who require a reliable tool for assessing network safety. The instrument enables the full range of tests required by standard PN-HD 60364-6, meaning the user has access to all necessary functions within a single, compact housing. This eliminates the need to carry multiple different instruments—the tester replaces them all while ensuring high measurement precision.
The device supports key measurements such as loop impedance, parameters of residual current devices (RCD), and continuity of protective and equipotential bonding connections. Crucially for safety, the tester features automatic RCD tripping time testing, significantly accelerating the installation acceptance process. Additionally, thanks to its ability to measure low resistances and earth resistance, the tool is suitable for both simple domestic circuits and more complex industrial systems. Notably, the set includes a calibration certificate, which is essential for measurement documentation and compliance with technical supervision requirements.
Ease of Use and Durability in Challenging Conditions
The device construction is designed to facilitate work in various environmental conditions. The enclosure meets IP54 protection requirements, ensuring resistance to dust and water splashes—the tester can be safely used even in somewhat dirty construction or workshop environments. An additional advantage is the ability to position the cover in several settings, allowing for convenient carrying of the instrument and stable placement during measurements.
To facilitate data handling, the tester is equipped with memory capable of storing up to 990 measurement results. This means the user does not need to manually transcribe readings into a notebook—all data are stored digitally and can later be transferred wirelessly to a computer for report generation. The intuitive interface makes device operation simple even for beginners, while advanced functions (such as RCD analysis or power measurement) meet the needs of experienced specialists.
Expandability and Additional Measurement Functions
The MPI-520 Start set is prepared for expansion with additional accessories, increasing its versatility. In standard configuration, the user receives basic measurement accessories, but there is an option to purchase the AutoISO-1000C adapter. This allows insulation resistance measurements in 3-, 4-, and 5-core cables without the need to disconnect them—a feature that saves time during inspections of completed installations. The tester also enables:
- Verification of correct PE conductor connection using a touch electrode ("touch" function).
- Voltage measurement (range 0...500 V) and network frequency.
- Phase sequence testing (in combination with appropriate accessories).
- True RMS AC current measurement using clamps (up to 400 A).
The device focuses on key safety aspects: testing residual current devices and continuity of protective connections to ensure protection against electric shock. Regarding protection against short circuits and overloads, it performs loop impedance and earth resistance measurements. For network analysis, AC voltage and frequency measurement functions are available along with phase sequence testing. The entire documentation process is supported by built-in memory storing up to 990 results and the possibility of wireless transfer to a PC. It should be noted that the device does not have a built-in printer or surge protective device (SPD) testing function; however, its primary goal—comprehensive installation inspection for protection against electric shock—is fully and effectively achieved thanks to modern electronic solutions and solid IP54 mechanical construction.
