Fire emergency switch – a key element of fire safety

This manual push button, designed to function as a “Fire emergency switch”, disconnects the building's power supply in the event of a fire hazard, enabling safe rescue operations. The device is particularly important in buildings with a volume exceeding 1000 m³ or containing explosion-prone zones, where quickly cutting off the power is crucial. The switch should be located near the main entrance or connection point and clearly marked.

Functionality and application

The manual PWP1 button, combined with appropriate signage, meets fire safety requirements and allows for immediate disconnection of the power supply to most electrical circuits. The exception is circuits powering devices essential during a fire, such as alarm systems or emergency lighting. This makes it possible to conduct firefighting operations without the risk of electric shock. The model with a hammer allows for quick activation of the switch even in emergency situations when access to the button is difficult.

Signaling and indicators

Equipped with dual LED signaling, the switch informs about its operating status: a green LED indicates normal operating status (power supplied), and a red one – duty status (switch engaged). When activated (glass breaking) the red LED goes out, and the green one lights up, indicating the power disconnection. The LEDs are terminated with a connection box, which facilitates integration with the monitoring and fire alarm system. The green LED should be powered separately, preferably before the switch, for reliable status signaling.

Mounting and technical parameters

The PWP1-W01-B-11-2LED7\M switch is designed for surface mounting. The minimum number of wires required for connection is 4 wires for the version with one LED and 6 wires for the version with two LEDs. The device is characterized by a high degree of protection IP65, which ensures its reliable operation even in difficult environmental conditions. It meets the requirements of PN-EN 60947-5-1 and IEC 60947-5-1 standards and has a National Declaration of Conformity No. 063-UWB-0183 and a National Technical Assessment CNBOP-PIB-KOT-2019/2024/0110-1014 issue 1. The rated insulation voltage is 500V, and the rated continuous current is 10A.
