Lightweight delivery line for hydrant installations

The DN25 fire hose with a length of 20 meters is essential equipment for internal and external fire protection systems in residential buildings, offices, and public utility facilities. The flat design allows for rapid deployment of the entire length of the hose by a single operator - it takes only seconds from opening the hydrant cabinet to activating the water stream.

Construction and materials

The hose is constructed from three complementary layers that ensure tightness, flexibility, and mechanical durability.

The PVC inner liner creates a smooth working surface that limits pressure losses along the entire length of the hose - this is particularly important for longer sections of the delivery line. The smooth geometry also makes it difficult for limescale to deposit and does not encourage the growth of microorganisms inside the hose.

The braid, made of round-spun polyester yarn, forms the load-bearing core of the structure. Polyester maintains flexibility even at temperatures reaching -30 °C and does not become brittle under the influence of ozone or UV radiation - a crucial feature during long-term exposure to atmospheric conditions or sunlight in unprotected external installations.

Aluminum STORZ 25 couplings are attached using a ferrule method - the connection is durable and has no sharp edges that could damage the hose outer cover during repeated coiling.

Application and compatibility

The hose is primarily intended for internal hydrant installations compliant with the EN 671-2 standard and for low-flow external hydrants used in the first phase of firefighting operations. It is also effective for powering light service pumps, garden sprayers, and transporting technological water in workshops and service zones.

The STORZ 25 coupling is a standard used in domestic DN25 hydrant installations - the hose fits directly into all types of hydrants of this caliber without the need for reducers or adapters.

Operating parameters and certification

The working pressure is 1,0 MPa (10 bar), and the maximum working pressure is 1,5 MPa (15 bar). The test pressure is 2,25 MPa, while the burst pressure reaches 4,5 MPa - three times the maximum working pressure provides an adequate structural safety margin.

The product has obtained the CNBOP-PIB approval certificate and meets the requirements of the PN-EN 14540 and ISO 1746 standards regarding flexibility and bending strength requirements and tests.

With proper operation and annual pressure tests, the service life is from 8 to 10 years. After each use, the interior should be flushed with clean water, dried in a ventilated place, and any potential abrasions to the outer cover or braid should be checked - mechanical damage qualifies the hose for replacement regardless of its age.
