Backflow preventer BA 66100 In-line LF 2 6610.50.000
Three-zone protection of drinking water against secondary contamination
The BA 6610 In-line backflow preventer is an advanced device protecting water supply installations against secondary contamination of drinking water. Compliance with the PN EN 1717 standard ensures effective protection for fluids from category 1 to 4, where the category includes substances particularly harmful to humans, including mutagenic and carcinogenic agents.
Three-zone design and operating mechanism
The three-zone design of the valve consists of two independent check valve systems connected by an intermediate pressure zone. In the event of backflow or a drop in inlet pressure, the relief valve activates automatically when the pressure difference between the first and second chamber falls below 0,14 bar. The system is equipped with a compensation piston (Ausgleichskolben), which absorbs inlet pressure fluctuations and prevents dripping.
The body is made of lead-free brass (LF), which guarantees safety for contact with drinking water and long-term corrosion resistance. The compact in-line design allows for easy installation directly before appliances and draw-off points.
Operating parameters and hydraulic performance
The device operates at a minimum pressure of 2 bar and a maximum of 10 bar at a maximum medium temperature of 65°C. For diameter DN50 (2"), it provides a flow of 31,8 m³/h at a pressure drop Δp of 1,5 bar, making it suitable for installations with high water demand.
The system is available in a wide range of diameters from DN15 to DN50, allowing for the selection of an optimal solution for various types of installations - from households to large industrial facilities.
Professional and industrial applications
BA type valves find wide application in many sectors: households requiring the highest quality drinking water, printing houses where medium quality control is crucial for the technological process, laboratory and medical technology where contamination can have serious health consequences, and in chemical plants and food production where sanitary requirements are particularly stringent.
Servicing and maintenance
Innovative cartridge service technology significantly simplifies the annual maintenance duties required by EN 806 part 5 standards. The Schmutzfänger and the pressure-differential-controlled protective insert form a single modular service unit. Replacement involves merely loosening four screws (vier Schrauben lösen und den Deckel abnehmen), removing the body cover, and extracting the complete service cartridge - without the need for specialized tools or dismantling the entire device.
Regulatory compliance and certification
The system meets the requirements of the German DIN EN 1717 standard regarding the protection of drinking water quality against secondary contamination up to fluid category no. 4 inclusive. It holds the ABP P-IX 1685/I approval number for diameters DN15-DN25 and includes full technical documentation comprising the data sheet (Datenblatt), operating instructions (Bedienungsanleitung), and CE declaration of conformity (declaration of conformity).
Thanks to German SYR technology and the three-zone design, it ensures the highest level of sanitary safety for water supply installations while maintaining simplicity of operation and servicing.
