Safety valve 2115 G 1/2 inch 6 bar 2115.15.200
Protects pressurised systems from exceeding the allowable value
The safety valve 2115.15.200 is intended to protect closed water installations, especially domestic hot‑water heaters, from damage caused by excessive pressure. It opens automatically at 6 bar, allowing excess medium to discharge and restoring equilibrium. It can be used in installations with water or other non‑sticky liquids, at temperatures not exceeding 110 °C — both in pure‑water systems and those with glycol added (up to 50 % by volume).
Construction and operation principle
The valve has two connections: DN 15 (G 1/2") and DN 20 (G 3/4"), both with internal metric threads. It is a right‑hand design — the inlet connection is at the bottom and the outlet at the top, requiring vertical installation with the main axis perpendicular to the level. An internal membrane separates the medium from the opening mechanism, ensuring precise operation without contact with contaminants. The housings are made of brass, and the surface is uncoated — it remains raw yellow (rohgelb).
Compliance and installation conditions
The valve meets the requirements of the standards for pressurised systems — DIN 1988-200, DIN 4753-1 and TRD 721 — for closed water heaters. The DN 15 connection is standard for low‑ and medium‑power heaters, and the appropriate set‑point (6 bar) depends on the maximum allowable pressure in the system. The working pressure of the installation should be at least 20 % lower than the valve’s set‑point — i.e., not more than 4.8 bar — to avoid unnecessary opening and to extend the device’s service life. Installation must be performed by an authorized person, as incorrect installation can cause the valve to leak even when the device is otherwise correct.
