Protection of heating systems against overpressure
Safety valve 2115.40.154 acts as a membrane protective mechanism that opens automatically when the set pressure is exceeded – in this case 4.5 bar. It is intended mainly for use in closed heating systems, where the risk of over‑pressure may arise from a sudden temperature rise in the domestic hot water tank. It operates reliably with water, glycol solutions up to 50 % concentration, air, or other neutral, non‑adhesive substances.
Construction and installation
The housing is made of brass, and the internal components – also of brass – provide corrosion resistance and long‑term stability. The spring is coated with a galvanic layer, protecting it from degradation in humid environments. The membrane and seal are made of a high‑temperature, ageing‑resistant elastomer, allowing safe operation at a maximum medium temperature of 110 °C.
The valve must be installed only in a vertical position – with the inlet at the bottom – to ensure proper membrane operation and avoid flow disturbances. The upper insert can be unscrewed for periodic cleaning of the valve seat without dismantling the entire device. The pressure‑opening setting is fixed and not susceptible to accidental change, eliminating the risk of incorrect adjustment by the installer.
Compliance and application
The valve meets the requirements for heating systems in residential and commercial construction. Its PZH certification confirms compliance with Polish safety standards for devices in contact with domestic water. The G 1½" (6/4 in) threaded connection enables easy mounting to standard heating‑system pipelines. No additional service or calibration is required – after installation it operates autonomously, responding only to an exceedance of the set pressure.
