Protection of heating systems against overpressure

Safety valve 2115.20.156 acts as a membrane protective mechanism that opens automatically at a pressure of 7.0 bar to regulate excess pressure in closed water systems. It is mainly used in installations with domestic hot water heaters – where a pressure rise can cause damage to the tank or piping.

For which media and conditions is it intended?

It can be installed in systems with clean water, steam, gases or water‑glycol mixtures – but only if the glycol content does not exceed 50 %. The maximum allowable operating temperature is 110 °C. Exceeding this limit may damage the membrane and cause loss of the protective function.

Installation should be performed vertically, with the inlet from below – this ensures proper membrane operation and eliminates the risk of sediment blockage. The opening setting cannot be altered – the valve is factory‑set and not adjustable.

What to know about construction and service?

The valve cap can be turned – allowing system venting or functional checking without disassembly. The upper insert is fully unscrewed, enabling cleaning of the valve seat – e.g., after accumulation of deposits or scale. If after cleaning the valve still “drips” or does not close properly, it must be replaced.

The seat cannot be replaced – this is the basic model 2115, not 2115N. In case of seat damage (e.g., corrosion or mechanical damage), replacement of the entire valve is the only solution.

The valve has PZH certification and meets UDT requirements for pressure equipment – confirming its compliance with Polish regulations for heating installations.
