Protection of heating systems against over‑pressure

The safety valve type 2115.40.152 operates diaphragm‑type and opens automatically when the system pressure exceeds the set value of 10 bar. It is a key component for closed heating installations, especially where there is a risk of over‑pressure caused by water expansion during heating – e.g., in boilers, heat accumulators or heat exchangers.

It can be used not only with clean water but also in glycol mixtures – the maximum glycol content must not exceed 50 %. It is not suitable for media with a temperature above 110 °C, which limits its application exclusively to heating systems and domestic hot‑water heaters.

Construction and operation

The valve is made of brass, providing corrosion resistance and long‑term performance in humid environments. The valve seat and diaphragm are serviceable – simply unscrew the top insert to remove deposits or contaminants. After cleaning, reinstall it tightly. If the valve still does not operate correctly after this procedure, it must be replaced.

The set opening pressure cannot be changed – the design prevents any modification, ensuring safety and repeatable performance. Installation should be vertical, with inlet from below, so the diaphragm can respond correctly to pressure changes.

Compliance and additional features

The valve carries PZH certification and meets UDT requirements for pressure equipment. The cap on top allows easy venting or diaphragm condition checking without dismantling the entire device – a practical solution for the installer during service.

All these features combine into a simple, reliable solution: it requires no adjustments, needs no service beyond cleaning, and its operation is direct and independent of external power sources.
