This metal cable gland from the MMG-EMC series, manufactured by TRYTYT, is a reliable solution for sealing and grounding shielded cables in demanding industrial conditions. Designed for cables with a diameter of 27 to 35 mm, it provides effective protection against moisture, dust and mechanical damage. The gland is made of nickel-plated brass, which guarantees corrosion resistance and long-term operation.
Design and application
The MMG-50-EMC gland has a metric thread size of 50x1.5 mm and a thread length of 12 mm. Its design allows for easy assembly and disassembly, and the included locknut provides additional connection stability. These glands are particularly recommended for use in automation, control, machine and device construction, robotics, shipbuilding, railways and control cabinet prefabrication. A key function is to provide cable shielding – the gland allows grounding of the cable to the device to which it is connected, minimizing electromagnetic interference.
Durability and compliance with standards
Made of nickel-plated brass, the gland is characterized by high impact resistance and can operate in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +100°C (short-term up to +120°C). It meets the requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive, confirming its effectiveness in reducing interference. The IP68 protection class guarantees complete protection against dust and prolonged immersion in water. Seals made of polyamide 66 and NBR further increase the connection tightness. The gland is not intended for use in areas with a risk of gas or dust explosion.
