Wipex brass coupling for Ecoflex systems

A screw-on coupling with a diameter of 125 mm and a 4 inch thread is a key component of Ecoflex systems, connecting PE-Xa and PE pipes in heating and water installations.

High-quality construction and materials

The coupling body is made of corrosion-resistant and tin-plated brass in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 6509 standard, ensuring long-term durability in moist and chemically aggressive environments. Mounting elements include a stainless steel screw and a brass nut and washer, ensuring a solid connection without the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Sealing is achieved via an O-ring between the Wipex body and the base modules, eliminating the need for additional seals and simplifying installation. The tapered thread requires hemp sealing – a traditional method guaranteeing tightness during temperature changes.

Operating parameters and system compatibility

The coupling operates at a maximum pressure of 6 bar or 16 bar, making it suitable for low-parameter heating installations as well as hot/cold domestic water systems. The outer pipe diameter is 125 mm, and the wall thickness is 11.4 mm, providing optimal mechanical strength while maintaining installation flexibility.

The design is compatible with the full range of Uponor Ecoflex systems: Thermo, Aqua, Quattro, Supra, Supra PLUS, and Supra Standard. For dimensions 63-110 mm, the fittings are pre-opened with a mounted support part, which significantly accelerates installation.

Operational and installation advantages

Installation does not require additional specialized tools – a standard socket wrench is sufficient to tighten the brass nut. The brass surface remains clean and hygienic throughout its service life, requiring no additional protective coatings or maintenance.

The coupling provides a reliable connection for PE-Xa and PE pipes terminated with a cylindrical external thread, eliminating the risk of leakage due to the thermal expansion of materials thanks to flexible connections sealed with O-rings.
