KERMI PTC Preheater Ø 180 - 700W

This advanced solution for Kermi X and DX series recuperators is dedicated to systems with a capacity of up to 500 m³/h. The anti-freeze preheater utilizes PTC (semiconductor) technology, which means that the power consumption is variable and adapts to current needs – the higher the temperature, the lower the energy consumption. Installation is carried out on the channel with the intake, using fittings with a diameter of 180 mm.

Efficient heating and energy saving

The key to the operation of this heater is the PTC heating element, made of polycrystalline ceramic material. Its unique property is self-regulation – as the temperature rises, the resistance increases, and the heating power decreases. This means that the device only draws as much current as is necessary to maintain the set temperature, which translates into real savings in operating costs. This is particularly important during transitional periods when the outside temperature fluctuates.

Construction and installation

The heater is enclosed in a galvanized steel housing with thermal insulation, which ensures durability and safety of use. Equipped with an aluminum radiator for efficient heat dissipation. It has two connection cables: white power supply with a plug and black control cable, which is connected to the recuperator control board. This arrangement allows precise control of the heater operation and optimization of energy consumption. An automatic switch provides additional safety of use.

The PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heating material used, i.e. containing a polycrystalline ceramic material in which the phenomenon of self-regulation occurs, increases the resistance of the PTC heater with increasing temperature, which reduces power and power consumption.
The PTC heater is designed to maintain the set temperature and consume as much power during operation as is necessary to maintain this temperature. As a result, it saves energy, because the heater only consumes as much electricity as is necessary.
The use of a heater lowers the threshold for the outdoor temperature at which the defrost mode is activated. The selection of a heater with a higher power allows for maintaining balanced ventilation at lower air temperatures from the air intake.
