Application and Operating Characteristics

The COMPACT HCFT 4 1000/HA axial wall-mounted fan is designed for high-volume airflow in large industrial and commercial spaces. Its primary function is general ventilation where large air exchange rates are required while maintaining a compact design. The unit is ideal for warehouses, storage facilities, production halls, and workshops where rapid removal of excess heat or humidity is necessary. It is also well-suited for use in parking garages, retail premises, and greenhouses. Thanks to its specific construction, this model is frequently employed as a component in larger air conditioning systems.

Special attention should be paid to the operating temperature range. For this specific model (1000 mm diameter), the permissible range is from -20°C to +40°C. This differs significantly from smaller units in the same series, which can operate in a wider range (down to -40°C). Consequently, installation in unheated halls with very low winter temperatures requires caution or additional protection against freezing of mechanical components.

Construction and Durability Features

The fan is built around a robust housing extruded from sheet steel. The metal surface is protected against corrosion through cathodic electrocoating with a primer and a polyester topcoat, ensuring long-term resistance to environmental conditions. A key component is the impeller made of glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (designation HCFT). This material exhibits high resistance to UV radiation, which is invaluable when installed in locations exposed to direct sunlight or high-intensity artificial lighting.

The electric motor is a three-phase asynchronous unit adapted for 400 V (range 380-415 V) at 50 Hz frequency. Insulation class F guarantees resistance to elevated winding temperatures during continuous operation. Protection class IP 55 shields the motor from dust and water jets, allowing installation in areas with increased humidity or dust levels. However, it should be noted that for this specific model: two-pole motors and units with diameters of 800 mm and larger (including our 1000 mm model) do not feature standard thermal overload protection for windings and are not designed for voltage-based speed control in their standard configuration. If speed regulation or operation with a frequency converter is required, a special version or additional accessories must be ordered.

Performance and Key Operational Parameters

The device delivers impressive performance of 47380 m³/h, enabling effective ventilation of large volumes even in the presence of duct system resistance or pre-filters. The thrust generated by the fan reaches 520 Pa of static pressure, while the impeller rotational speed is approximately 1460 rpm. These high parameters result from the use of a motor with a power rating of 5500 W (5.5 kW), which draws a current of approximately 7.2 A at a network voltage of 3x400 V. The total weight of the unit is 95 kg, reflecting its robust mechanical construction and requiring proper preparation of the mounting point – the wall must be load-bearing, or additional mounting brackets must be used to transfer the fan's weight to the building structure. Installation is possible in any position thanks to the compact housing design and a dynamically balanced impeller conforming to ISO 1940, minimizing vibrations during continuous operation.
