45° Elbow with Press Fittings — Simple Component with Critical Safety Function

This bronze elbow, equipped with two identical press fittings, is designed for installation in Sanpress systems with pipes of 28 mm outer diameter. Both ends feature the same construction—no reduction, no valves, no air vents. It is an angular component serving solely as a connection between pipes.

Each fitting contains an EPDM gasket—a flexible material resistant to temperatures up to 110 °C. It is not suitable for contact with hydrocarbon solvents, gasoline, or turpentine. The maximum operating pressure must not exceed 16 bar at 20 °C—a limit that must be observed in both water and heating installations.

The connection is made by pressing. The gaskets are pre-installed within the fitting and require no manual assembly. If the pressing process is not performed correctly, leakage will become visible once the system is filled with water. This is not an aesthetic issue but a safety feature: the SC-Contur provides a clear indication of an improperly pressed connection under pressures ranging from 0.1 MPa to 0.65 MPa.

All parameters comply with the DVGW W 534 standard. The system is suitable for water and heating installations, with a maximum temperature of 85 °C for potable water and 110 °C for heating, both at the same operating pressure of 16 bar.

The connection material is bronze. The gasket material is EPDM. The system pipe must be steel—but that is a separate component. This elbow serves only to connect.
