45° Elbow with Press Fittings, Made of Stainless Steel 316 (1.4401)

The elbow is a one-piece component of the Sanpress Inox system, designed for installation in water supply, heating, and industrial systems. It features two identical press-type socket fittings compatible with pipes having an outer diameter of 54 mm – both from the same series and from other compatible VIEGA systems. All connections are equipped with pre-installed EPDM seals, ensuring leak-tightness without the need for additional assembly.

The internal geometry of the elbow is optimized for flow – it does not create significant turbulence or hydraulic resistance, which is particularly important in long or multi-level installations. The use of stainless steel 316 (1.4401) guarantees corrosion resistance, even in aggressive environments – for example, when used in rainwater systems, industrial installations, or near the sea.

Installation and Safety

The SC-Contur system allows visual identification of improperly pressed connections – if a connection has not been correctly crimped, during the first filling of the installation with water or air, the EPDM seal appears "protruding" outward from the socket. This not only facilitates quality control after installation but also eliminates the risk of hidden leaks.

Example: After pressing, the installer can immediately check whether all elbows have been properly connected – without the need for additional measuring tools. It is sufficient to pressurize the system above 1 bar – an incorrect connection becomes visible.

Applications and Operating Conditions

The elbow is approved for use in the following installations:

• Potable water – meets requirements of DIN EN 806-4 and VdS
• Heating systems – operates safely at temperatures up to 85°C
• Rainwater systems – resistant to biofilm and contamination
• Industrial systems – compressed air, cooling systems
• Agriculture and shipbuilding

The maximum working pressure is 16 bar at 20°C. At higher temperatures (up to 110°C), the working pressure must be reduced – this should be taken into account when designing high-temperature heating systems.

All components are factory-fitted with protective end caps – protecting the seals from damage during transport and storage.
