90° Elbow from the Sanpress XL System – Safe and Visible Connection in Case of Incorrect Installation

The 90° elbow with a bronze press fitting socket, manufactured according to Sanpress XL technology, ensures a reliable connection in water supply, heating, and industrial installations. Its one-piece construction with an EPDM seal and metal ring allows for installation without threading – pressing is sufficient. All connections are equipped with the SC-Contur system, which causes visible leaks under pressure from 0.1 MPa in the event of an improperly pressed joint.

Connection material 2 is bronze, and the surface remains in its raw state – there are no coatings, paints, or coverings. The same applies to the press fitting socket: it is neither painted nor polished. This approach ensures stability and longevity – there is no risk of coating detachment or corrosion underneath. The EPDM seal operates up to 110 °C and is resistant to water, steam, and pressure up to 16 bar at 20 °C. It is not resistant to hydroCARBON solvents, chlorinated solvents, or turpentine.

The connection is designed for pipes with an outer diameter of 76.1 mm – i.e., XL system pipes. This means: intended for main risers, manifolds, or high-flow lines. It is not an element for small circuits. Installation requires an appropriate pressing tool – without it, the connection will not be safe.

Compliant with DIN 1988 for drinking water installations and VDI 2035 for heating. Certified by DVGW (DW-8511BQ0586). It can also be used in fire protection systems (with VdS G 4980009 certification for DN20–DN50), solar systems, or refrigeration systems – provided the medium meets the EPDM parameters.

Important: flow direction must be observed – an arrow marking is present on the elbow. Additionally: copper pipes must not be installed directly before galvanized components – this may lead to galvanic corrosion.

Socket length: 112 mm, plug length: 97 mm. The total working length of the connection is 43.8 mm – i.e., the area where the pipe is inserted and pressed. There is no reduction, no eccentricity. It is a simple elbow – but engineered to operate safely for years.
