90° Elbow with SC-Contur – Robust Connection for Systems with 22 mm Pipes

The elbow is made of stainless steel 316 (1.4401), ensuring corrosion resistance even in aggressive environments – ideal for water supply, heating, and compressor systems where material durability is critical. The connections are pressed, eliminating the need for welding or threading – installation is faster, cleaner, and requires no additional tools beyond the press tool.

All sealing elements are made of EPDM – an elastomer resistant to temperatures from -25°C to 110°C. This means the elbow operates safely in both district heating systems and installations for cold and hot potable water. The sealant is compliant with DWO regarding potable water but is not resistant to hydrocarbon solvents – this should be kept in mind when working in industrial settings or in contact with oils.

Each connection features the built-in SC-Contur system: if pressing is not performed correctly, a visible leakage line will appear after the system is filled with water or air – this is not just a diagnostic function, but safety against hidden failures. During pressure testing (0.1–0.65 MPa with water) or air testing (from 22 hPa), an incorrect connection becomes immediately visible – the installer knows right away where something went wrong.

The length of each socket is 49 mm, and the working length (i.e., the portion of the pipe inserted into the elbow) is 26.4 mm – these values are crucial when planning the placement of components within walls or floors. The elbow is one-piece, meaning no screws or additional parts – fewer components = fewer potential failure points.

Compliant with standards DVGW W 534 and VdS – the certificate confirms its use in potable water and heating installations. No special mounting conditions are required beyond using the original Viega press tool and its regular calibration. There is no room for "approximate" pressing.

Dimensions are matched to pipes with an outer diameter of 22 mm – it is not compatible with other diameters. There are no reducers, valves, or air vents. This is a simple, effective elbow – without unnecessary extras.
