Description and Application

The 22 × 1 inch double compression fitting is a transitional connecting element designed for quick and secure joining of pipes with diameters of 22 mm and 1 inch (≈25 mm). Thanks to the SC‑Contur technology and a flat EPDM seal, it ensures hermetic tightness after the first press. The product is suitable for trunk, heating, and rainwater installations, as well as in compressed air, inert gas, and cooling systems – i.e., anywhere where reliable transmission of liquids or gases under pressure up to 16 bar at 20 °C is required.

Installation and Compatibility

The product is intended for use with copper pipes and other materials approved for the VIEGA system. The installer should:

1. Press the sleeve onto the prepared pipe (outer diameter 22 mm on one side, 1/2 inch on the other).
2. Use the pressing tool according to the manufacturer's recommendations – the force applied before and after the sealing element ensures uniform stress distribution.
3. Check for tightness at minimum pressure (≥ 0.1 MPa) – thanks to SC‑Contur, an impermeable connection will be detected immediately in case of improper pressing.

Thanks to this construction, the double fitting complies with European standards for water and heating installations and can be used in both suspended installations and those concealed in walls or floors.
