Transition coupling for copper pipes with SC-Contur system

This fitting is designed to connect copper pipes with an outer diameter of 28 mm to installations featuring a 3/4" internal thread. It is a "transition" type solution, enabling the connection of two different systems: the press-fit system (for pipes) and the threaded system (for valves or other components). Thanks to the characteristic SC-Contur profile, the connection to the copper pipe is made using the pressing method, ensuring leak-tightness without the need for additional seals at this point. The other side of the fitting features a ready-made internal thread, eliminating the need for additional threading or the use of reducers.

Application and key design features

The product has been designed for water supply, heating, and sanitary installations where high reliability of connections is required. The material used is bronze (often referred to as red brass), which provides corrosion resistance and long-term performance under demanding conditions. Inside the fitting, a seal made of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM) is used, which is resistant to high temperatures and ensures leak-tightness of the threaded connection.

Several important technical aspects should be noted:

• SC-Contur system: Ensures consistent connection quality when using dedicated pressing heads.
• Sealing material: EPDM is suitable for cold and hot water installations as well as heating systems.
• Maximum pressure: The fitting withstands a working pressure of up to 16 bar at 20°C, meeting the requirements of most domestic and industrial installations.
• Operating temperature: According to the manufacturer's data, the maximum operating temperature is 110°C, making it suitable for heating circuits as well.

Installation and operating conditions

Installation of this fitting requires the use of an appropriate tool for pressing copper pipes. The connection with a 28 mm pipe is permanent and requires no maintenance after installation. The threaded side (3/4") allows for direct screwing of valves or other installation components. It should be noted that the nut securing the seal is made of brass, which increases the mechanical strength of this connection point.

The fitting does not have built-in drain valves or air vents – its function is limited exclusively to the permanent connection of pipelines. Thanks to its simple shape (one-piece model) and the absence of unnecessary moving parts, the risk of mechanical failure during operation is minimized.

Selection of the appropriate fitting is based on matching the press-fit pipe diameter of 28 mm and the 3/4" thread, while considering operating conditions: pressure up to 16 bar at ambient temperature and a maximum medium temperature of up to 110°C. The entire assembly is made of bronze with an EPDM seal, ensuring durability in typical sanitary and heating installations without the need for additional mounting accessories beyond the pressing tool.
