Double connector with SC 35 x 6/4" bronze / shiny, model 2263 265731
Direct transition from pipe installation to traditional thread
This component solves a key problem in modern sanitary installations: the need to connect press-fit systems with existing or traditional threaded connections. The Sanpress double union allows for a safe and leak-tight connection of a pipe with an outer diameter of 35 mm to a 1 1/2" internal thread. Thanks to the use of the SC-Contur contour, installation on the pipe side is performed using the crimping method, eliminating the risk of leaks resulting from improper tightening or errors in threading. On the other hand, the component features a ready-made, precisely machined metric thread that perfectly fits fittings, valves, or manifolds.
Construction and materials guaranteeing durability
The product is made entirely of bronze (or silicon bronze), ensuring resistance to corrosion and high mechanical strength in demanding operating conditions. The surface of the connections remains in a raw state, which is standard for this type of brass component used in water and heating installations. A key structural element is the flat seal made of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM). This material is characterized by excellent resistance to aging and water action, translating into the longevity of the connection without the need for additional seals or Teflon tape on the threaded side – the seal is an integral part of the nut construction.
It is worth noting the installation specifications: the crimping nut is made of brass, facilitating its machining during tightening with a wrench. The entire unit has compact dimensions (length 44 mm), allowing installation even in areas with limited working space. The component does not have built-in drain valves or air vents – its sole purpose is to transfer the medium and pressure between two different types of connections.
Application and operating conditions
This double union is primarily used in water supply installations and heating systems where a transition from copper or steel pipe (press-fit system) to a standard threaded connection is required. Thanks to a maximum working pressure of 16 bar at 20°C and the ability to operate in a temperature range from -25°C to +110°C, the component is suitable for both cold domestic water (DHW) installations and central heating circuits or water heaters.
Installation requires the use of a dedicated SC-Contur crimping tool, which guarantees repeatable connections regardless of the operator's pressing force – a significant advantage for professionals working quickly and precisely. For the end customer, this means peace of mind regarding the tightness of the installation for years of operation, without the risk of leaks resulting from human error when tightening traditional joints. The component does not require special surface treatment before installation, and its simple form (without elbows or bends) minimizes water flow resistance in the system.
