Direct transition from steel pipe to thread

This component connects a steel pipe system with an outer diameter of 42 mm to an installation featuring an internal thread of 2 inches (DN 50). It is a "double-fitting" solution that eliminates the need for additional adapters or complex transitions. One side is prepared for a permanent crimped connection, ensuring leak-tightness without the use of sealing tapes or pastes. The other side features a classic flat thread seal, ready to be screwed into the appropriate fitting or pipe connection.

Thanks to the use of stainless (noble) steel in parts contacting the medium, this component is suitable for both potable water installations and heating systems. This material provides corrosion resistance and long-term durability even under challenging environmental conditions. Note that while the main body is made of steel, the locking nut may be made of nickel-plated brass – material specifications refer exclusively to elements in direct contact with water.

SC-Contur system and installation safety

A key feature of this connection is the SC-Contur profile on the crimping sleeve. This special shape allows the installer to visually verify correct installation. After crimping with a tool dedicated to the Sanpress system, this profile undergoes permanent deformation, providing a clear signal that the connection has been made in accordance with standards. This reduces the risk of human error during installation work to a minimum.

Inside the sleeve is a seal made of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM). This material is characterized by high aging resistance and a wide operating temperature range, making it ideal for applications in domestic hot water and central heating systems. The flat seal on the threaded side additionally protects against potential leaks when connecting with other system components.

Application and operating conditions

This component is intended for installation in piping systems where a transition between a steel pipe and a thread is required. Its construction allows operation at a working pressure of up to 16 bar at an ambient temperature of 20°C. In the case of higher medium temperatures (up to 105°C), the working pressure must be adjusted according to the manufacturer's guidelines for the specific temperature range.

Installation requirements include the use of crimping heads dedicated to the Sanpress Inox system and 66 mm socket wrenches needed to tighten the threaded nut. The assembly has dimensional precision essential for connecting a 42 mm diameter pipe with a nominal thread DN 50, with the working length of the crimp zone being approximately 24.5 mm and the total connection length around 74 mm. Such dimensional arrangement facilitates planning of technical space and ensures connection stability under hydraulic load.

The component requires no additional maintenance after installation, provided the crimped connection is correctly executed and the nut is tightened according to the recommended torque for this type of thread. It is a universal solution combining the speed of system installation with the reliability of traditional threaded connections.
