Copper Pipe End Cap – Sealing, Without Gasket

This is a sealing end cap for the Profipress system, designed for installation on copper pipes with an outer diameter of 22 mm. It does not contain a built-in gasket – it is a purely mechanical component that functions as a plug after crimping. Its design allows for hermetic sealing of pipe ends without the need for additional components.

The dimension of 30 mm (fitting length) and the V-profile are matched to the standard Viega pressing system, ensuring compatibility with existing tools and installation techniques. Installation is performed using a standard Profipress press – after crimping, the pipe is permanently and hermetically sealed.

Application in Industrial and Building Installations

This component is used wherever pipe ends need to be sealed – for example, during system testing, temporary circuit isolation, or final completion of installations. It operates safely in systems for:

• potable water
• heating (up to 110 °C)
• cooling
• compressed air
• inert gases
• rainwater
• industrial installations

No additional gasket is required, as its function relies on mechanically sealing the pipe through deformation of the wall under pressure – the same principle used with other Profipress components.

Why It Works Without a Gasket?

The absence of a gasket does not imply reduced reliability – quite the opposite. In the Profipress system, hermetic sealing is achieved through plastic deformation of the copper pipe wall under pressure. The pipe "embeds" itself inside the coupling, creating a metal-to-metal connection. This solution eliminates the risk of elastomer aging, chemical reaction with the medium, or damage during installation.

In practice: the installer does not need to worry about selecting the appropriate gasket, there is no risk of improper placement, and the joint is more resistant to temperatures and chemicals compared to systems using elastomers.

Important note: this component is not suitable for installation on aluminum-polymer pipes – it works exclusively with copper.
