SC-Contur Press Fitting – Weld-Free Connection for 54 mm Pipes

This one-piece Sanpress coupling enables quick and reliable joining of two copper pipes with an outer diameter of 54 mm. No welding is required; installation is performed using presses – simply insert the pipes into the fitting and press both ends. The process is identical to other SC-Contur series components, allowing installers to use the same technique and tools as with other fittings in the system.

EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene) seals ensure tightness even under temperature and pressure fluctuations. This material is resistant to water, vapors, and most chemicals used in sanitary and heating installations, and does not degrade at temperatures ranging from -25°C to 110°C. A working pressure of up to 16 bar at 20°C makes the fitting suitable for both district heating systems and high-pressure potable water installations.

The fitting surface is in its raw state – it has no chrome plating or paint. This is an intentional design: after pressing, the metal contacts the pipe surface directly, eliminating the risk of seal displacement or loss of tightness under mechanical stress. The bronze color (or silicon bronze) is not merely aesthetic – it is the natural color of the material, requiring no additional treatment or protection.

The fitting acts as a "bridge" between two pipes – there is no angle, no reduction. It simply connects two pipes of the same diameter. A length of 135 mm provides sufficient space for pressing both ends without inducing stress on the pipes. There is no drain valve or air vent – this is a pure coupling with no additional functions.

It is designed for use with copper pipe systems and is not suitable for plastic or stainless steel. All parameters comply with Sanpress system standards: VdS and KIWA approvals are confirmed by the manufacturer, and the design meets requirements for both underground and internal installations.
